Dominic Meyer - CEDJ
By founding Sunset Mobile Music in 1980, Dominic Meyer culminated a dream that began while growing up in El Cajon . Twenty-seven years later he heads one of San Diego ’s leading DJ entertainment companies. The result of his musical magic can be seen in his contracts with some of San Diego ’s most prominent sites including the San Diego Maritime Museum .
Continually working his craft, Dominic participates in seminars with the industry’s best. His expansive knowledge of music history and styles combined with a mastery of timeless presentation, Dominic creates an environment for 21 people to 2,100 to enjoy. Sunset Mobile Music’s leader has had his finger on the pulse of ever-moving trends in music and entertainment for a wide scope of occasions.
When he’s not entertaining his twin 12 year-olds, Dominic is working arduously producing effortless DJ entertainment. On any given weekend you will find Dominic involved in personal moments that fan his professional fire. The father-daughter dance and the perfect best man toast are all moments to treasure, but for Dominic—these personal connections have made his livelihood a pleasure.
Joel Amos
After working his way through college as a DJ at various bars and clubs in Washington , D.C. , Joel Amos landed in San Diego and returned to his emcee duties for Sunset Mobile Music. For three years, Joel has entertained a wide spectrum of audiences for Sunset from a Harley Davidson-inspired wedding and corporate parties to country club events and everything in between.
As a published arts and entertainment writer, Joel possesses a deep knowledge and appreciation for all types of music and utilizes that range to please the varied audiences of any particular event. Whether it’s classical music, big band swing or hip-hop, the mix from this DJ always surprises.
Joel also has voice acting training and utilizes that experience in his hosting duties to bring that extra professionalism to emceeing an event. Whether a wedding or anniversary, retirement party or christening—Joel's vast experience allows him to be prepared for any event!
Myson King
Myson has been entertaining crowds since 1995 and sees his ideal mix as a melding of today’s hits with the classics that move everyone. Myson’s emceeing presence is a product of working crowds that began in elementary school when he was always picked to DJ lip-sync contests. The San Jose native moved to San Diego in the summer of 2003 and Sunset Mobile Music employed its latest entertainer.
For years, Myson made a living in Charlottesville , Virginia playing college parties, radio and any public forum that required a DJ. It was there he found the secret to his ideal mix—it must speak to each soul in the crowd. With a dose of hit songs, a dash of funk and classic soul, his goal is always the same—bringing everyone to the dance floor.
Jeremy Hutman
Jeremy has been a disc Jockey for 10 years and at the age of 31 he is the perfect combination of youth and experience. He developed his skills in Southern California and became one of the most popular wedding DJ’s in Washington D.C.
Jeremy is known for his ability to motivate a crowd without being overbearing or cheesy. Clients, their guests, event coordinators and venue employees constantly compliment him on his ability to run a flawless event. Jeremy appreciates the effort you are putting into your event and he goes out of his way to help you make your planning, and the actual event, as stress-free as possible.
Jeremy has a degree in both speech communication and anthropology. His education has helped him to develop superior skills on the microphone and has also helped him to be especially sensitive to the diverse crowds that are common in an international city like San Diego.
Charley Sharp
Charley has been spinning discs since most of his friends were flipping burgers. Saturday and Sunday evenings during his senior year of high school, Charlie was on the radio channeling his strong vocal presence. Loving the music while losing the constraints of radio, Charley enjoys personally connecting to an audience. A passion for music is what also drove Charley to discover a perfect match in Sunset Mobile Music for the last 15 years.
Owning his own travel agency is just one of the hats he wears. He also serves as a DJ and producer for Fox and ESPN fitness shows. Devoted to hard work, he brings that ethic to each event he emcees.
His method has always remained constant, creating the energy an electric crowd can generate. Beginning a song as two people in the height of love start their dance, he can witness music’s effect on people’s hearts and souls.
Fred Ortiz
As a San Diego native Fred Ortiz has been entertaining San Diego and Riverside Counties for over 10 years.. From small backyard birthday parties to he most formal of weddings, Fred has a proven track record of dependability.
Bilingual in Spanish, Fred is not oly well versed in playing Spanish music, but also a bilingual emcee who speaks the music's language fluently.
Fred’s appreciation for music goes beyond the Latin genre. His varied background and appreciation of each genre of music plays into putting the perfect amount of heart and soul into any given event.
